The dance styles of Pandit Chitresh Das and Jason Samuels Smith are oceans apart. But when Das, a master of Indian dance, and Smith, renowned for his explosive tap work on Broadway, perform together, their styles converge in an original and ground-breaking rhythmic collaboration.
Described as a series of “parallel monologues” that explore both forms without fusing them, India Jazz Suites is a blast of incredible speed and power, grace and beauty, epic storytelling and the pure joy of dance.
Accompanied on stage by a jazz trio and classical Indian trio.
