Description: 

The Big Read Summit will be held in Northfield, VT. Sequential art created by students through The Big Read School Series will be displayed at local businesses throughout the town. Three workshops will be held in the community room of Brown Public Library during the day, a cartooning workshop, a play writing workshop and an acting workshop. These workshops are free and open to the public. In the main performance space select student writings will be performed, there will be a lecture by Lea M. Williams, Associate Professor of English at Norwich University and the evening will conclude with a panel discussion on themes of the book. Represented on the panel will be a veteran, a peace studies expert, a scholar in the field of veterans’ affairs, a writer, a performing artist, and a visual artist.

The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.
