	Birding in Vermont Mt. Mansfield If you'd rather drive than hike up the mountain, note that in summer and fall, the Stowe Mountain Resort operates a toll road. Contact them at 1-800-253-4754 to find hours of operation and rates. From the village of Stowe, drive north on Route 108 (Mountain Road) for 5.8 miles. Turn left into the toll road parking lot. After paying the toll, proceed up the toll road to the top of Mount Mansfield. Good places to stop for Bicknell's Thrush include the parking area below the Octagon (3.9 miles from the toll gate) and the summit station at the end of the 4.5-mile road.
