Willard
Sterne Randall and
"Benjamin Franklin" on VPT
Randall is one of the
experts featured in "Benjamin
Franklin," a two-part special that aired on public television stations,
including VPT, in 2002.
Randall appeared
several times during the first night of the broadcast, discussing Franklin's
years in London, the buildup to the American Revolution and Franklin's
estrangement from his loyalist son, William.
Although experts
such as Randall appear throughout the PBS special, the program is a "documentary
biography," with a lively dramatic format that features a distinguished
cast led by Tony Award-winning actor Richard Easton as Franklin.
