VPT Online: Requiem for September 11th






	Requiem for September 11th A Tribute by the Montreal Chamber Orchestra Every once in a while, a confluence of great events, enthusiastic support and the right mix of people conspires to create something special. Such was the case with VPT's presentation of Requiem for September 11th: A Tribute by the Montreal Chamber Orchestra. The program, taped in June, premiered Sept. 9, 2003. Wanda Kaluzny led the Montreal Chamber Orchestra and Sainte-Anne Singers in a moving tribute featuring Gabriel Faure's beloved Requiem. The program also included brief interviews with Montrealers who were affected by the tragedy. We were honored to be able to share this joint message of hope with our family of viewers. Producing this concert for broadcast allowed VPT, in partnership with many people, to help celebrate the strength of spirit and compassion displayed by Americans and Canadians alike in the wake of the September 11th tragedy.
