Pathways
to Planning is an online, interactive tool to help local groups learn
about sprawl and smart growth and develop strategies for action. This tool
serves as a "consultant" for planners and community members and
allows users to tailor each online session to the specific characteristics
of their community.

A related film, Livable Landscapes: By Chance
or By Choice?, looks at the changing relationship between the people
of northern New England and the land, and tells stories of average citizens
taking a stand against sprawl. It will air Wednesday, April 20, at 10
pm.
A Discussion
Guide to help translate the issues raised in the film is available.
Livable Landscapes: By Chance or By Choice? will also air Sunday, April
24, at 3 pm, to be followed by a taped rebroadcast of "Sprawl in Vermont:
An 'Outdoor Journal' Special."
"Sprawl in Vermont: An 'Outdoor Journal' Special" is intended
to foster viewers' involvement and participation in community affairs. Producer
of VPT's Outdoor Journal
is Neil Hilt. Production funding is provided by the USDA,
