Read Across America

Every year the NEA (National Education Association) holds Read Across America, a nationwide initiative to help foster literacy. For years this program has been held on March 2nd in honor of Doctor Seuss' birthday. The Cat in the Hat has long been the ambassador of Read Across America Day, and this year will be no exception. More than 50 million parents, children and teachers will participate in this national celebration of reading – watch your community for special Cat in the Hat events. And be sure to tune in VPT from 8-10 a.m. on March 2nd. We've got a special, two-hour Cat in the Hat marathon lined up for you!
