THUNDER IN GUYANA: When the filmmaker's cousin was elected Guyana's president seven years ago, Janet Rosenberg Jagan -- considered oneofthe founders of Guyana along with her husband, Cheddi Jagan --becamethe first American-born woman to lead a nation. Thisprograminterweaves family history and Guyanese history withtheextraordinary life story of one unconventional woman. 50/FIFTY: This short is a soulful requiem for a family's past. Usingold home movies and hand-processed film, Jane Kim pays homage tothememory of her father, who passed away when she was young. FERNANDO'S FIRST SNOW: A young boy's first snowy day is marked by afight with his sister and the help of a new friend.
