Paint This With Jerry Yarnell

European Flower Box, Part 1

Series Website »
Episode Guide »
(16x20 Acrylic) This painting embraces the Tuscany trend in painting and will feature a flowered window box. Jerry starts with mottled sienna underpainting and sketches the subject window and flower box which will be the center of interest. Using a black mixture, Jerry first blocks in the windows and then blends in a stucco facade around the windows. The rest of this segment demonstrates how to construct the window frame, the window panes and curtains. Use of the contrast rule to build depth and dimension is taught and a dark green area is added at the base of the window and flower box as background for the flowers.
