Paint This With Jerry Yarnell

Morning Fog, Part 2

Series Website »
Episode Guide »
In this session, Jerry begins by adding details to the pier posts in the foreground - noting the value system as he works into the distance. He then creates the reflections of the posts and debris on the beach into the water. Jerry then designs the layout of the focal point by creating overlaps and strategically positioning seagulls into the painting. The session ends with Jerry giving an explanation of the importance of elliptical brush strokes to achieve flatness of the water.
