Emery Blagdon And His Healing Machine
With pliers in hand, Nebraska artist Emery Blagdon fashioned pieces of wire into patterns and attached foil, beads, ribbons and cast-off items. He hung the creations in his rural Nebraska shed, creating an environment he believed could generate natural energy from the earth and heal the sick. When he died, friends of the man who wore unkempt hair, a long beard and overalls found a way to save his creations. This program tells the story of this visionary artist, his work and its preservation and placement in Wisconsin's prestigious John Michael Kohler Art Center.
