An old rock fence is so charming and a perfect subject to paint. Building layers is an important application of watercolors. As you apply one layer over another it allows the translucent quality of the watercolor pigments to create colors different from mixed colors. By diluting the layers to establish transparent glazes it produces a stained glass effect.
