The Thin Blue Line

Rag Week

Episode Guide »
Set in a police station, the British comedy series THE THIN BLUE LINE stars Rowan "Mr. Bean" Atkinson as Inspector Fowler, head of the uniform branch. In the cramped station, Fowler's unit shares one large operations room with the CID in plain clothes, managed by Detective Inspector Grim (David Haig). Fowler is a bit pompous, a bit priggish and a little old-fashioned, but he is a decent and honorable chap who feels very strongly about his duty as a policeman and attempts to instill his principles in his officers. The smug, ambitious, patronizing Grim and his officers think themselves a cut above the uniform squad, and the two groups constantly clash in the confined space.
