The War
Watch this VPT & You spot by clicking here.
The Second World War brought out the worst and the best in a generation of Americans.
This month and throughout the fall, tune in to Ken Burns’ newest series The War, exploring the most intimate dimensions of WWII through the stories of Americans – from the frontline and the home front.
In conjunction with this landmark series, VPT is proud to take part in an unprecedented national outreach campaign to collect and preserve the stories of WWII veterans and their families.
Partnering with a coalition of local organizations, VPT will offer:
- extended programming
- screenings and discussions
- teacher trainings
- an extensive website containing resources
- an online story collection tool
- Vermont’s only searchable database of WWII veterans
Contribute to Vermont’s history and heritage by sharing your WWII stories, photographs and voice accounts by clicking here.
